Last update: November 4, 2024
Edit: due to the recent tragedy caused by the torrential rain in parts of Spain, the central government has issued a national mourning period from October 31 to November 02. All Town Halls in the Costa del Sol have suspended their public Halloween activities. Private venues may keep their programmed activities.
Here in Mama Málaga we are heartbroken. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of this tragedy. This post is being kept to inform about the cancellations; there is really no mood to party for now.

Torremolinos
Centro Cultural – Canceled
Edit: in solidarity and respect to the people that lost their lives in the recent torrential rains that affected Spain, Torremolinos’ Town Hall has cancelled this activity.
The Centro Cultural Pablo Ruiz Picasso is planning horrifying Halloween activities this October 31 and November 1. First of all, it is not going to be the Centro Cultural – it will become The Enchanted Centre, or ‘El centro encantado’ during those two days; it will also offer dance, artistic workshops, escape room, spooky tales, inflatables and a rock concert with the group Quimirock! With so many ingredients, I think their cauldron may overflow with fun!

Benalmadena
Plaza de la Mezquita – postponed
Edit: in solidarity and respect to the people that lost their lives in the recent torrential rains that affected Spain, Benalmadena’s Town Hall has postponed this activity to November 3 and 4.
Traditionally, the Plaza de la Mezquita is the place to go in Arroyo de la Miel during Halloween (and on other times too). The stage of the square becomes the base for the Pasaje del Terror (horror passage) a horror house that can put to test even the bravest. I, for one, never entered – I am scared of the line, already, that is long, long and winding… horrifying in its all terms. If you want to face the horrors and dangers of Pasaje del Terror, get there early!
For those who dare, the Pasaje del terror will be open from October 31, from 07 pm to 02 am, and on November 01 and 2 from 08 pm till 01 am.
Cable Car
Benalmadena’s cable car (Teleferico de Benalmadena) has a Halloween promotion going on from October 14 to November 03 in which kids aged 3 to 7 can ride the cable car for free if they go wearing a costume and with a paying adult. Get your kid’s spookiness to the sky!
Benalmadena Pueblo – Postponed
Edit: in solidarity and respect to the people that lost their lives in the recent torrential rains that affected Spain, Benalmadena’s Town Hall has postponed this activity to November 3.
Benalmadena Pueblo has a full program of Halloween for the night of October 31. It is going to be terrorific!!!!
At 06:00 pm – Kids party at Plaza de las 3 Culturas
At 08:00 pm – Parade departure from the plaza de las 3 culturas
From 07:30 pm to 02:00 am – Casa del Terror Los Páez in Avenida Juan Luis Peralta, in front of the Town Hall
From 09:00 pm to 01:00 am – Horror Corners spread through the city, at Plaza Andalucia, Plaza Virgen de la Cruz, Plaza de La Cruz and Calle Maestra Ayala
Museo Precolombino Felipe Orlando
The Museo Precolombino Felipe Orlando is the king of Halloween in Benalmadena. Every year it prepares a parade of Catrinas and Calaveras – skeleton-like women and men dressed in very colorful costumes – that is something you wouldn’t want to miss. In 2024, the parade will happen on October 25, starting at 6:30 PM. It will depart from the plaza de las 3 culturas, which is right in front of the Museum, in Benalmadena Pueblo, and parade through the streets of the Pueblo. A highlight of Halloween! Wear a lot of make-up and some flowers in your hair!
But the Museum is doing even more: there will be the traditional exposition of the Mexican Altar of the Dead – from October 18 to November 10; a workshop for kids to draw their own mask, on October 18 and a themed, guided visit for adults about the Mexican celebration of death, on October 20! It’s all free of charge, but reservation is requested for both the workshop and the guided visit.

Ruta de la Tapa de Cine
The VIII edition of the Ruta de la Tapa de Cine will happen from October 31 to November 08 in Benalmadena. In this traditional event, the participating restaurants and pubs (which have not been announced yet) prepare halloween-themed Tapas which are sold at a fixed price – in 2024, it’s 3,00 euros for a Tapa and a small glass of beer. There ruta also includes a Tapaport – a card you can get from the participating venues with the list of retaurants, and go stamping the ones you’ve already tried. In the end, you can vote on your favorite tapa, and the most voted restaurant gets a prize!
Fuengirola
Parque del Sol – Canceled
Edit: in solidarity and respect to the people that lost their lives in the recent torrential rains that affected Spain, Fuengirola’s Town Hall has cancelled this activity.
Fuengirola will celebrate Halloween 2024 in the Parque del Sol, very close to the Plaza de España (see directions below), where the town is preparing a big party for kids on October 31, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The event will include theater, entertainment, a horror passage and more! The place of the celebration has changed from the Plaza de España to the Parque del Sol this year because Fuengirola included a horror passage into the Enchanted Forest – and the parque del Sol suited better the new attraction. I’m dying to see it!
Centro Comercial Miramar
The shopping center Miramar has prepared a set of activities for the little monsters to band together and get cackling. It’s the Miramar Halloween Park, which goes on from October 17 to November 02, offering many possibilities for eerie fun. There is going to be a horror circuit for the bravest among those from 5 to 12 years old, and a horror playground for the youngest ones, among other terrific attractions!
Mijas
Mijas intends to get rid of their kids during Halloween. The horrifying plan consists in sending them away to Isla Magica, in Seville – any parent relates to the feeling? Better not relate much, because Mijas wants to send at least one of the parents too!
Halloween Mijas 2024 – Postponed
Edit: in solidarity and respect to the people that lost their lives in the recent torrential rains that affected Spain, Mijas’ Town Hall has postponed this activity to November 9.
For the parents and other monsters left behind, look for activities in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña in Mijas Pueblo; in Las Lagunas, go to the Recinto Ferial, and in La Cala de Mijas, check the Parque de la Butibamba.

After a long wait, Marbella’s Halloween plan finally raised from the dead: there will be distributions of both candies and pumpkin-shaped containers for the kids to collect the sweets, as well as terrific facepaintings. Beware! It will all take place at Marbella’s Old, Old Town, in the Plaza de las Ranitas and Plaza de los Naranjos, from 6 to 9 pm on October 31.
Estepona – Canceled
