The Feria de San Pedro Alcantara, in Marbella, is one of the last ferias of the season. It is a large celebration that attracts locals and tourists alike, to a week-long traditional event. It’s quite impressive. Marbella is an enormous city that spreads through the cost, and San Pedro itself, one of its neighborhoods, is large enough to be considered by many a town in its own right.
In 2024, the Feria will happen from October 15 to October 20. With funfair, parades, dance contests, shows and even an area of the fairgrounds reserved for horse performances, I bet you won’t want to miss it! And if you don’t know San Pedro yet, this is a great opportunity. Let’s see upclose what San Pedro Alcantara has prepared for its big week in 2024!

Recinto Ferial
You can download the program of the Feria de San Pedro Alcántara directly from Marbella’s Town Hall page. It is only in Spanish, but we’ll translate the events in this post. One very cool feature it includes is a map of the Recinto Ferial (fairgrounds):

Let’s start by the highlights: children’s day will be on October 18, with lower prices in the funfair and shows for kids; both on October 16 and 18 there will be hours without noise to allow people with noise sensitivity to enjoy the fair, and October 19, the day of San Pedro Alcantara, will see most of the religious acts of the fair.

Tuesday, October 15
06:00 p.m. Parade of Giants and Big heads
with an animation called ‘Carrusel’ (Merry-go-round) and the Music Band Ramón Mayén.
Itinerary: departure from the Plaza de la Iglesia (Church Square), Calle Revilla, Calle Lagasca, Calle Jerez, Avenida Marqués del Duero, Calle Córdoba, Calle Pepe Osorio, Avenida Oriental and Plaza de la Iglesia.

06:30 p.m. Performance by various dance academies in the Church Square (Plaza de la Iglesia).
07:00 p.m. Floral offering
at the foot of the image of our Patron Saint San Pedro de Alcántara in the Church Square (Plaza de la Iglesia).
09:00 p.m. Grand Opening Act with the official switching on of the festive lighting and opening of the Fairgrounds (in the “María del Carmen Álvarez Mora” roundabout of the Fairgrounds installed at Finca La Caridad), with a colorful parade that will run through the Fairgrounds.
Next, performance of Sevillanas by ‘Las Carlotas’.

– Reading of the Inaugural Speech of the Fair and Festivals of San Pedro Alcantara 2024, by Estrella García Martínez.
– Coronation of the Queens, Kings, Children’s and Youth Ladies, as well as Miss Sympathy, Miss San Pedro Alcantara and its Ladies.
– Coronation of the Queens and Kings of the Center of Active Participation of San Pedro Alcantara I and II.
– Election of the Popular Queen, among the Ladies who are in Municipal Booth.
Wednesday, October 16

To attend the lunch it is required to present tickets, available in the centers of seniors I and II of San Pedro.

The final part of the program is about the 28th Urban Race of Saint Peter, which took place on October 12, 2024.
How to get there
From Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmadena, Torremolinos or Málaga
From any of these locations, you can get the train to the last station of the C1 line – Fuengirola Station. From there, you’ll need to get a bus, whose prices and timelines you find here, on Avanza page. Or you can get a taxi or an Uber from Fuengirola Train Station and get to the fairground at San Pedro a lot faster!
Despite Google Maps showing it would take 1h15min, the bus trip itself takes from 45 minutes to one hour, depending on the time chosen, according to Avanza, the medium and long-distance bus operator in charge of these lines.
From Marbella city center
The buses in the city of Marbella are not operated by the consorcio Malaga, but by Avanza; Google Maps suggests Avanza line 12 for this trip:
From Estepona
Despite Google Maps showing it would take 1h15min, the bus trip itself takes abou 20 minutes according to Avanza, the medium and long-distance bus operator that is in charge of these lines. Check here times and prices!
Conclusion
The Feria de San Pedro de Alcantara is full of interesting events and attractions, and promises to be very entertaining!
