Christmas and New Year in Estepona 2023/24

Christmas and New Year in Estepona this 2023/24 season is going to be great. The City Council and different associations present in the beautiful Garden of the Costa del Sol have put together a program full of music, workshops, lights, food (cheese in particular!) and entertainment for all ages.

You’ll find below the full program (original in Spanish here) that the Ayuntamiento of Estepona has prepared for this Christmas and New Year season, divided by dates and translated to English. All posters are provided by the Ayuntamiento, in the program or on their website.

I added some maps to help locate the places. Note that the programs provided by the different religious brotherhoods present in Estepona are listed under their respective dates, so that it is easier to know at a glance all the city is offering each day. 18TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT GALA OF THE GARCÍA FAJER FOUNDATION
The commemorative concert will be performed by Kameliya Naydenova (violin) and Tomás Navas (classical guitar). It coincides with the 293rd anniversary of the birth of the great Riojan composer after whom the Foundation is named, Francisco Javier García Fajer, known as ‘El Españoleto’ (Nalda, La Rioja, December 2, 1730-Zaragoza, February 26, 1809).

ZAMBOMBA WITH ‘THE SOUP AND FAMILY’
When December arrives, Jerez de la Frontera and its surroundings are the scene of one of the most traditional cultural and festive customs of Andalusian folklore: the zambombas. Since the 18th century, on the eve of Christmas Eve, friends, neighbors and family gather in the patios, corrals of neighborhood houses and streets of the neighborhood, where Christmas carols are sung and danced spontaneously. THE THREE WISE MEN CAVALCADE
Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will arrive in Estepona from Egypt, loaded with thousands of toys and candies to distribute among the little ones and their families.

📍 The carriages parade will start from Avenida de Andalucía, No. 1, and will end at the Orquidario Botanical Park, where children will be able to deliver their letters to the Three Wise Men of the East.
