Los Alamos Beach, known locally as Playa de los Alamos, is one of the most beloved Torremolinos beaches. Its unique charm lies in the perfect balance between tranquility and vibrant beach life, making it a favorite spot for both locals and tourists.

Located in the northernmost part of Torremolinos and relatively detached from the town’s center, Los Alamos Beach receives less visitors than more central beaches, which means there is more space – and more sand – to enjoy. It is an ideal place for those who want to enjoy quality beach-time. There are plenty of places to eat or to rent a hammock, but there is plenty of space in between the commercial areas for those who want to take their own towel and lay it on the sand, as well.

Beach Clubs and Chiringuitos Los Alamos Beach is home to numerous beach clubs and chiringuitos (beach bars), where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine, refreshing drinks, and live music. The beach clubs cater to a younger audience, with parties that start around 6 or 7 pm playing pop and electronic music; earlier, it is possible to have lunch at these beachfront venues. The chiringuitos are more laid-back and focused on serving tapas, meals, beverages and on renting hammocks.

Frontiers of Los Alamos Beach

Los Alamos Beach is situated between San Julián beach, already in Málaga, to the north, and Playamar, a more urban beach in Torremolinos, to the south. Los Alamos is about 1500 meters long and has an average width of 60 meters!

Inland, Los Alamos Beach seamlessly transitions into Los Alamos district, a quiet residential area. This area offers a more relaxed and laid-back vibe, making it ideal for families and those seeking a peaceful retreat; nevertheless, the many beach clubs that are located particularly on the north-most part of Los Alamos, make it also a great place to enjoy the nightlife.

Kids Friendly: 10/10

The beach is excellent for children, offering large and clean sand areas, shallow waters, playgrounds and necessary amenities like restrooms and showers*, making it a great choice for families.

The area of Los alamos Beach with a creek is a favorite of both small kids and their parents!

Infrastructure: 9/10

Los Alamos is clean, has several lifeguard posts, playgrounds and gym equipment, as well as several bathrooms and showers. The only reason I don’t give a 10/10 is because many of the showers are currently not working, probably because of the draught that the Costa del Sol is enduring.

Los Alamos Beach scores high for being clean, kid-friendly, having excellent sand quality, and being a hotspot for party enthusiasts. It’s also a good place to relax, though it falls short for surfing and dog-friendliness. It has areas shaded by palm trees and areas in full sun. All this makes it an ideal beach for families, relaxation and nightlife, but less so for surfing and pet activities.
