Marbella Carnival 2025

Marbella Carnival 2025 will happen between February 15 and March 9. As usual, Marbella has issued a program with activities spread throughout the city – Las Chapas and Nueva Andalucia also have events and their own subprograms, all translated here. There is also a separate program for San Pedro Alcántara – we have joined all the programs here for easy access.

💡 The hotspot of Marbella’s Carnival 2025 is the Parque de la Represa (marked in the map in light blue), close to Marbella’s Old Town, where comparsas and chirigotas (Carnival groups) will perform on March 8 – right after the Humor parade. There will be also a Mussel feast on the Parque de la Represa the next day, on March 9. If you are coming to Marbella during Carnival, check places to stay around this central area:

Marbella Carnival 2025

Saturday, February 15

9:00 pm – Proclamation of the 2025 carnival, at the Adolfo Suárez Fair and Congress Palace in Marbella with the following scheduled activities:
– Reading of the Pregón of the 2025 carnival by Mr. Antonio Quiñones Oneto “Agüita”.
– Imposition of the “Golden Shield” of the 2025 carnival to Mr. Isaac Jesús Romero Espada.
– Presentation of the Venus, Nymphs and God Momo of Carnival 2025.
– Performance by the following local carnival groups:
• Chirigota “Tu cara me suena”
• Comparsa “La Pureza”
• Chirigota “Los Visitantes”
• Comparsa “Los Majareta de la bicicleta”
– Next, Anthology of the Comparsa by Antonio Martínez Ares.

Tickets €5 in favor of the DEBRA Piel de Mariposa Association. On sale from February 12 at:

– Teatro Ciudad de Marbella box office (Wednesday to Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm. Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. On the day of the event, starting at 7 pm.)

From February 19 to 21

10:00 am – Children’s chirigotas competition
at the Adolfo Suárez Congress and Exhibition Palace in Marbella with the participation of educational centers from Our municipal area.
An area will be set up for parents and family members to enjoy the Contest.

Sunday, February 23

Noon – Children’s proclamation in the Parque de la Represa (next to the Antonio Gil “El Nejo” temple), with the following activities:

– Reading of the children’s proclamation by Mario Romero González;
– Choice of Venus, Nymphs and God Momo for children from the carnival;
– Children’s entertainment show and
– Bouncy castles, mechanical bull, jumping, trampolines and many more surprises (from noon to 3:00 pm)

The election will be carried out by lottery. All children who wish to participate, aged between 5 and 12, must complete their application at the Parque de la Represa and deposit it in their corresponding ballot box.

Friday, February 28

1:00 pm – Carnival Chorizada in the Plaza José Rodríguez “El Triana”, located in front of the A.C.C.M. headquarters, on Calle José Iturbi. Free chorizo ​​tasting and performances by different carnival groups.

From March 3 to 6

9:00 pm – Semifinals of the XXVIII Carnival Groups Contest that will take place at the Teatro Ciudad de Marbella.
Tickets by invitation. To be picked up from February 26th at:
– www.mientrada.net starting at 9 am or
– Teatro Ciudad de Marbella box office (Wednesday to Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm. Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. On the day of the event, starting at 7 pm.)

Friday, March 7

9:00 pm – Final of the XXVIII Carnival Groups Competition that will take place at the Teatro Ciudad de Marbella.

Saturday, March 8

5:00 pm – Marbella Carnival Humor Parade with the following route:
Departure from Avenida Ricardo Soriano (Siebla gas station area), then Avenida Ramón y Cajal, Avenida Severo Ochoa and ending at the intersection with Avenida Nabeul. During registration and throughout the route, the jury will view and choose the best costumes in the individual, couples and group modalities of the adult and children’s categories.

Awards:
Categories: adults and children.
Registration for the adult and children’s costume contest will take place one hour before the start of the parade near the health center on Avenida Ricardo Soriano (Antiguo Urbanismo area). Registration closes at the end of the Parade (ages from 14 years old for adult category).
Carnival entertainment show and awards ceremony on the stage located on Nabeul Avenue.

8:30 pm – Carnival performances in the Parque de la Represa (next to the Antonio Gil “El Nejo” temple) with the participation of the following groups:
– Comparsa “Los Cuervos” by Antonio Martínez Ares (words, music and direction: Antonio Martínez
Ares);
– Chirigota “The James Bonds that are glorious to see” by Yuyu (words and music: José Guerrero Roldán, direction: David Aparicio Collantes);
– Comparsa “Los del otro barrio” by Piru y el Tomate (lyrics: Antonio Jesús Pérez Fuentes and Sergio Guillén Bancalero, music: Sergio Guillén Bancalero and direction: Juan Antonio Macías Álvarez).

Sunday, March 9

Noon – XXV Carnival Mejillonada (mussel feast) Memorial Antonio Rubia “El Extranjero” organized by the Peña Carnavalesca Los Nocheros, in the Parque de la Represa.
Free mussel tasting for all attendees and performance by carnival groups.
Carnival group competition with prizes for best presentation, best pasodoble, best cuplé and chorus and better medley. (Registrations during the mussel feast).

Conditions of participation:

– Registration open until half an hour before the start of the contest.
– Number of components per group: minimum 12 components with instrumentation (snare, bass drum and guitar).
– Performance: minimum performance of a complete repertoire (presentation, two pasodobles, two cuplés and
potpourri).
– Maximum performance time: 30 minutes.

Participating groups: maximum 8 groups.
Prize giving at the end of the Contest.
Followed by “The great sardine piñata”, with many surprises and gifts.

Nueva Andalucía Carnival 2025


Friday, February 14

10:00 am – CEIP José Banús carnival parade through the streets of the Nueva Andalucía District.

Saturday, February 15

Noon – Carnival party in the new Polivalente (multipurpose) space of Nueva Andalucía, with:

– Children’s entertainment and bouncy castles;
– Costume contest with children and adult categories (individual and groups);
– Choice of Momo and Ninfa;
– Performance by local carnival groups.

Sunday, February 16

3:30 pm – Carnival Party on Avenida Las Palmeras (Colonia El Ángel), with children’s entertainment and several inflatables.
Then, carnival costume contest with children and adult categories (individual and groups).
Finally, a performance by local carnival groups.

Thursday, February 20

3:30 pm – CPA Nueva Andalucía carnival party with a costume contest.

Las Chapas Carnival 2025

Saturday, February 15

Noon – Las Chapas 2025 carnival party, at the Colegio Platero with:

– Children’s workshops and bouncy castles;
– Children’s entertainment;
– Dance school performance by Karina Parra;
– Costume contest (little ones, children, adults and groups categories);
– Performance by local carnival groups.

San Pedro Alcántara Carnival 2025

From February 19 to 21

10:00 am – Children’s chirigotas competition at the Adolfo Suárez Congress and Exhibition Palace in Marbella with the participation of educational centers in our municipality. An area will be set up for parents and family members to enjoy the Contest.

Friday February 21

11:00 am – Children’s carnival parade through the main streets of the center, with participation of various educational centers of San Pedro Alcántara.
Route: Plaza de la Iglesia, Lagasca, Jerez, Marqués del Duero and Plaza de la Iglesia.
Upon completion, a children’s entertainment show will take place.

5:00 pm – Children’s carnival party on San Pedro Alcántara Boulevard with:
– Children’s costume contest;
– Animation show;
– Bouncy castles, mechanical bull, jumping, trampolines and many more surprises.

Saturday February 22

5:00 pm – Humor parade of the San Pedro Alcántara carnival with the following route:
Departure from Avenida Virgen del Rocío (J. Tineo roundabout), Boulevard San Pedro Alcántara, Pepe Osorio, Avenida Oriental, Revilla and ending at Plaza de la Iglesia.

Sunday February 23

San Pedro Carnival on the Boulevard stage with:
12:30 pm – Inauguration of the monolith that will name the Boulevard Amphitheater in honor of Mr. Juan José Calvente Alcántara.
1:00 pm – Performance by local carnival groups:
• Comparsa “La Pureza”
• Chirigota “Los Visitantes”
• Comparsa “Los Majareta de la bicicleta”
• Chirigota “Tu cara me suena”

5:00 pm – Start of the performances of the following Cádiz carnival groups:
– David Carapapa’s Comparsa “The Resistance” (words and music: David Márquez Mateo and direction: Rafael Velázquez Jones).
– Chirigota de los Molinas “Los Compay” (lyrics: Gonzalo Madrid Garrote and Francisco Javier Macías Tinoco, music: Manuel Benítez Molina and direction: Francisco Daniel Benítez Molina).

From March 3 to 6

9:00 pm – Semifinals of the XXVIII Carnival Groups Competition that will take place at the Teatro Ciudad de Marbella. Invitations available at the Theater box office.

Friday March 7

9:00 pm – Final of the XXVIII Carnival Groups Competition that will take place at the Teatro Ciudad de Marbella.
Tickets available at the Theater box office, with a cost of €5 in favor of the DEBRA Piel de Mariposa Association.

Conclusion

Marbella Carnival 2025 promises to be a lot of fun for the whole family. Come enjoy bouncy castles, parades, colorful costumes, laughs, local food and experience life at its best. And if one city is not enough, check also the carnival in Benalmadena and Malaga – in the Costa del Sol, you always have a great time!
