Mijas is about to celebrate the La Cala de Mijas Fair 2024 . This vibrant annual event promises almost a week full of festivities, culture, and community spirit – even with horses on the streets! Program and locations
Locations
The Feria de la Cala de Mijas will happen mostly in two places not far from each other, the Torreón de La Cala and the Recinto Ferial de La Cala de Mijas (La Cala de Mijas fairgrounds). The Day Fair will happen in the Torreón de la Cala (shown below), the postcard of this beautiful area, right by the beach. A very convenient place, given how hot this summer is. Mixing Day Fair with some jumps in the sea seems perfect!
Our second location is the Recinto Ferial de La Cala de Mijas (the fairgrounds of La Cala). It will host the nighttime fair, and it is also where the Municipal Booth and the funfair attractions will be.
A few observations about the program
– Every day, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the sounds of the funfair attractions will be turned off so that children with special needs can enjoy the fair without acoustic barriers.
– Every day of the feria, admission to the Municipal Booth is free until capacity is complete. Party in the fairgrounds can go on until 5:00 am!
-Horses and carriages are authorized to travel through the streets of Mijas during the date of the La Cala fair. Carriages and horses must be in possession of civil liability insurance in compliance with the provisions of the applicable regulations.
– Violet Point: you’ll see some references to Violet Point on the program. This is not an event, but a safe place in the fairgrounds where people that suffer any form of violence, particularly gender related, can reach for help. The Violet Point will be available on the fairgrounds on July 26 and 27, from 11:00 pm to 03:00 am.

Wednesday, July 24
In the Fairgrounds:
Special children’s day
all attractions for children at the fairgrounds will have a fixed price of €2.50.
In the Municipal Booth:
09:00 pm – Dance performances
by dance groups of the UP, by teacher Feli Gabriel
10:30 pm – Inauguration of the fairground and lighting up
by the local authorities.
11:00 pm – Presentation of the candidates for king and queen, ladies and companions of the La Cala Fair 2024.

Thursday, July 25
In the Municipal Booth:
09:00 pm – Dinner tribute to the third age
Local seniors will be received with a welcome sangría cocktail. During the dinner, the grandfather and grandmother of the 2023 fair will be presented with gifts. The dinner will be offered to all seniors who, upon registration with the Municipal Department of the Elderly, have withdrawn their invitation.

Friday, July 26
