Benalmadena Pueblo Fair 2025 – a bit different this year
Here we go to Benalmadena Pueblo Fair 2025! This is a traditional, once-a-year fair set in one of the most beautiful and delightful parts of our Costa del Sol, the very picturesque (or Instragram-friendly) Benalmadena Pueblo. Known locally as Feria de Benalmádena Pueblo 2025 and as Feria de la Virgen de la Cruz 2025, this edition has been coming together piece by piece, slowly building into the complete event. So much so, I’ve found not one, but 3 programs that add up to the complete fair!
In this post, I’ll blend them all, so that we have a unified source of information. Starting from the basics: the Feria will happen from August 13 to August 17, 2025, in several parts of Benalmadena Pueblo. The Feria de Noche (nighttime Fair) will happen in the Recinto Ferial, as usual, with 5 nights of shows; the religious side of the fair will be a bit smaller this year than in previous editions, with just two masses and a procession (though the Romería has already happened, on August 3rd).
The Feria de Día (daytime fair) will be concentrated in the area from the Plaza de las 3 Culturas (right in front of the Museo Precolombino) to the Plaza de España, the beautiful square with la Niña sculpture. This is different from previous years, when the fair reached up to the Church square.
The main reason for these differences is that there are renovation works goin on in Benalmadena Pueblo, particularly in Calle Santo Doming, that goes from the Plaza de España all the way to the Church. This renovation was expected to have finished, but if you ever had a renovation done in your home, you know the drill: it never finishes when scheduled. Benalmadena Pueblo is experiencing the same phenomena; the expansion of the construction work.

Notice the mass will not happen in the Church of Santo Domingo, because of the renovations. I think this mass will be particularly beautiful, in an open space, and with the choir!

José Manuel Soto is very well known artist, with a career of more than 40 years. He got in a bit of trouble in recent years, when he published remarks against the Spanish president, Pedro Sanchéz, and his voters; Soto kinda got a bit “cancelled”. Below, his most famous song, Por Ella:

But when did the fast-painting contest happen in the first place? I suspect this is the contest that happened yesterday in “Contest and Cucaña”. Would be better if the program informed it clearly, as well as how to enroll. I think people can enroll at the place right before the start, as there is no information about it.

Conclusion
Despite the setback of the construction works that are still going on, it is nice to see that Benalmadena Pueblo managed to pull up a Feria. We gotta be proud! I’m sure it is going to be beautiful as always. Have a great Feria de la Virgen de la Cruz 2025!
