Benalmadena carnival 2025 is about to start, with celebrations spreading across Benalmadena Pueblo, Arroyo and Benalmadena Costa, where the fun will be centered in the Puerto Marina.

This year’s party seems to be smaller than last year’s, but all the main events are there: the Drag Queen Gala, which is a public success – go early if you want to get a good place -; parades in both Arroyo and in the Pueblo, and the grand finale with the burning of the lizard on the beach.

The Town Hall published the program for Benalmadena Carnival 2025, and Puerto Marina has published their own program on social media; here we have both of them combined and translated, to bring all that the carnival in Benalmadena 2025 will offer! Here it is:

February 8

Carnival for kids at Puerto Marina
Comparsas (singing and dance groups) and workshops for children.

Organized by: AMPA and caregivers from the La Luz Nursery in Arroyo de la Miel.

Children’s Parade Rainbow Daycare
Organized by: AMPA and caregivers from the Arco Iris Daycare Center in Benalmádena Pueblo.

Great Carnival Parade in Benalmadena Pueblo
Registration: 4:00 pm. to 5:00 pm.
Registration and delivery of numbers by the Peña El Tipo to all participants in the costume contests. It is essential to collect your bib number to be eligible for the prizes.

✨ 5:00 pm – Departure of the delegation.
Itinerary: Plaza de las 3 Culturas, Avenida Juan Luis Peralta, Avenida del Chorillo, Calle Gabriel Escobar, Calle Maestra Ayala, Avenida Juan Luis Peralta, Calle Real, Calle Álamos, Calle Lomillas, Calle Doctor Jerónimo Garriga and Plaza 3 Culturas.

Throughout the parade the Jury will score the best costumes.

Registration: From 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Tivoli parking esplanade.

Solemn Parade and Burning of the Lizard.

Departure from the Plaza de la Mezquita, Calle Noelia, Avenida de la Constitución, Calle Blas Infante, Calle Vega, Calle Palmito, Avenida Gandhi,Avenida Rocío Jurado, Avenida Antonio Machado, Castillo del Bil Bil, Playa de Santa Ana.

Gastronomic Carnival and Apotheosis of Comparsas and Murgas

We updated the information after the program was published. 😉 Now there is no reason to postpone that fantastic costume you’ve been waiting all year to wear!

If 2025 is going to be anything like 2024, I strongly recommend the Drag Queen Gala, that was so much fun (though very crowded)! The burning of the Lizard, I’d recommend a bit less – there’s plenty of smoke, it can trigger some respiratory problems. Plus, it is so sad to see a beautiful sculpture catch fire!

The parades are also great and for all ages – seeing your neighbors dressed like chicken in the middle of the main street: priceless. Get ready, because the party is about to start! Happy carnival and see you around!
